Ok..so Chris has been begging me for a dog for a year now!! I, of course, am not the biggest lover of pets. But...finally..I caved in and made an appointment with some breeders as a gift to him for our One Year Anniversary. How can you not love these guys??? (i'm sure I'll take that back in about 4 weeks when one of them comes home with us ...)

Our First Anniversary!!
I can't believe it...one year already!! Boy has this year flown by. Life with my husband is great...as always. I love him so much and am so blessed to have him in my life. I wish I could say this year has been awesome health wise for me...but not so much. Who said we should go to Mexico for our honeymoon?!? Oh yeah, that was me :( It's been hard but as always, Chris is by my side every step of the way. I couldn't have married a more wonderful man . . . As for the cake, it was suprisingly good for hangining out in CA for a couple days after the wedding and travelling back to the east coast in my Mom's carry on! As you can see, it wasn't the prettiest, and it did taste a bit like the freezer, but all in all, not as bad as everyone says ;)
Rob & Erin's Wedding
In September we travelled to San Diego for the wedding of Chris' best man, Rob Stuart, and his wonderful wife Erin. We had such an incredible time and the wedding was beautiful - it was in Temecula (wine country) at a vineyard and the entire event was outside. It was so much fun to spend the week with Rob and Erin and their family and friends. We hope to see them again really really soon :)

Wow...we packed alot in!
While Angela was here visiting we did sooo much fun stuff with her! You will see from the pictures that we went mini golfing, go karting, the empire state building, Mary Poppins on Broadway, the double decker tour bus the Statue of Liberty, the Aquarium...you name it, we did it! Oh and of course...watching plenty of the Olympics! And we had so much fun!! We even got Angela to help us with some landscaping. Carol and Chelsea were also along for the ride and it was so amazing to have everyone here. We can't wait until Christmas...and next summer of course :)

Summer is Here
Chris and I have been doing work around the house this summer, both inside and out. It's nice to have time, now that the wedding frenzy is over. First, we started on the yard. We dug up a bunch of the plantings from the previous owners, since absolutely everything in our yard is the color green. Our hydgrangea from last year are doing awesome but we still needed to add a bit of color. It doesn't look like much now but hopefully they will grow in nicely over the next couple of years. We also had our first experience with strawberries this year which was fun!! We will continue to take more pictures of the decorating we are doing indoors. Yesterday's task was to start clearing out all of the construction materials out of the basement from our kitchen and bedroom renovation last year...not so fun. Next on my list is to decorate Angela's room...she is coming to stay with us for the first time this summer! We can't wait!
The 5th Season is Open!!
Ok, so this post is a little late. My sister and her husband's restaurant, The 5th Season, reopened in May of this year in Port Jefferson. They were formerly located in Greenport, where they had an adorable quaint space with an open kitchen. The new location is right on the water, has two floors and an outdoor deck. It is such an incredible space and they have been doing so well since the opening. We wish them the best of luck!!
Jeanine's Baby Shower
My childhood friend Jeanine is counting the days to the delivery of her baby girl, Madison. We recently went to her beautiful baby shower. Madison has so many cute clothes, toys and wonderful things for her nursery now!! We can't wait to meet Madison when she arrives.

The Butters Keep Your Fingers Clean
I know we have been MIA for a long time. Not much has been going on, and I wasn't feeling so hot for awhile. But things are going well these days - Chris and I have finally been working on decorating our house now that the wedding frenzy is over. Some landscaping is on the agenda for this weekend. Jen and Erik opened their new restaurant, the Fifth Season, in Port Jefferson and they have been doing tremendously well! I'll be sure to post pictures soon.
We have also been starting to prepare for Angela's trip to NY this summer. I spent my lunch time today at pottery barn outlet picking out bedding for her room!! So fun! She is staying with us for a couple of weeks in August and we can't wait! Mom and Chels will be joining us as well - we are really looking forward to doing a lot of fun stuff together!
Below is a picture that my Mom sent me and I just couldn't resist putting it on here. I hope everyone gets a kick out of it.

HAPPY EASTER!
We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. This year Chris and I hosted brunch at our house for my sister, Jen, and her husband, Erik, and my dad and Aunt Elin. I was super exicted to finally be able to use the beautiful china and silver we received for the wedding!! Much thanks to Erik for doing all of the cooking of our wonderful meal because I wasn't feeling well. All in all it was a good day and we all had fun playing with Jen and Erik's dog, Riley.

We're Still Here!
I know it has been forever since we have posted a new post. Thank you to all of you who keep coming back to check up on us. Things have been pretty uneventful on the Newlywed front. I am still suffering from being sick to my stomach - it's been on and off since the honeymoon so we really haven't gotten out to do anything exciting (and no....I'm not pregnant).
I have posted a few pictures of my Mom's new puppy Zoe...she is sooooo adorable and so smart! Also posted are the "before" pictures of my sister Jen's and husband Erik's new restaurant in Port Jefferson. They are totally remodeling the space (as you can see it needs it). I can't wait to post the "after" pictures for you all to see in a month or two. We can't wait to hang out at their new place on the weekends this summer!
