Beware....long posting but fun! This past weekend we headed to Santa Barbara for the final wedding planning! We had a great time making all of the final decisions. We started out on Thursday morning from NY at 8am and arrived in Santa Barbara at 2pm PST. Our first appointment was the tasting at the Four Seasons and it was incredible! We had the whole crew with us - my Mom and Stepfather, Bob, Chris's Mom and sister, Chelsea, and our wedding planner, Ariel. We can't give you too much information - we don't want to spoil it - but the food was fabulous!
After the tasting I headed off to have my hair and make up trial. I LOVE the girl who did my hair and make up - she is so much fun! She was actually such a blast that she and my Mom went shopping together today for my Mom's dress for the wedding (she is a personal stylist as well). Needless to say, she found the perfect dress! I can't wait to see it. On Thursday night Chris headed down to Orange County so that he could have "Donuts with Dad" at Angela's school on Friday morning! He met Angela's teacher and saw her classroom - they had such a great time!
On Friday, after Donuts, Chris headed back up to SB. We started the day out with a chocolate truffle tasting...this place was AMAZING! Can't tell you too much but if you are headed to SB to join us for the wedding...the truffles are worth the trip! :) After the truffles, we had the BBQ tasting (for the Welcome Dinner), then we showed my Mom and Bob the Welcome Dinner site. Finally, we met with Rev. Bellamy, our officiant, to "find our ceremony" as he says... The end of the night ended with dinner with Aunt Andie and Uncle Donnie who drove up to join us!
On Saturday we headed down super early to Orange County so that we could spend some time with Chris's grandmother. Then we headed down to Laguna to pick up Angela. We spent the afternoon at our hotel in Disney, in the pool, where Angela learned tons of new swimming strokes from Chris and then we headed to Rainforest Cafe with Grandma (Chris's Mom) for dinner.Of course, we also had to hit Build-A-Bear in Downtown Disney so that Angela could create "Annie", her roller skating Bunny (so cute!). After dinner Chris, Angela and I settled in for the night with a movie!
On Sunday morning we had Father's Day breakfast in bed and then we took Angela back to Laguna. Chris and I took a quick spin down to the beach in Long Beach so that I could touch the Pacific (our plane was delayed) and so that he could have In and Out Burger!! Definitely worth the detour!
We finally arrived in NY at 1am this morning...and we're exhausted! It's time for bed!
